OUR VISION | Flourishing diversity from the soil upwards

Our shared vision is for Great Glemham Farms to flourish diversity from the soil upwards. Key to this is our vision of integrating food growing with care of the wider ecology of the land. This means that we look to grow nutritious food, ecosystem services and public goods through regenerative farming approaches. These enrich both the ecological diversity of the farms’ habitats and the community benefits and learning opportunities offered by the land.

To achieve this, we have developed a Farm Vision that underpins our Countryside Stewardship plan and guides our wider partnerships and collaborations. This Vision interweaves six key commitments, all of which are made possible through collaborations with people and the living land.

AGROECOLOGY | Nature-based approaches soil health and nutritious food production

WATER CARE | Enhance the management and quality of water

HISTORIC LANDSCAPE | Integrate grassland, wood pastures and water meadows with livestock management

BIODIVERSITY | Enrich biodiversity, enhancing wildlife habitats and protecting target species

COMMUNITY WELL-BEING | Strengthen community well-being and learning opportunities

CARBON CARE | Invest in renewable energy technology and maximum carbon sequestration

“At a time when we need more regionally-appropriate examples for others to learn from and exchange with, Great Glemham Farms is in a key position to play a flagship role in leading Suffolk and the East of England toward the kind of relationship with nature that we cannot afford to lose.”
